I am just finishing the adornment of my very first pair of “turned” leather shoes. I finally attended a class which allowed me to buy only enough of the really thick leather for the shoe sole for 2 pairs. My very first pair fit perfectly and are VERY comfortable especially with the foam inserts that I knew I’d want to use. I have photos of the process and the finished product but I see no upload link here.
Virginia,
I would love to see the shoes.
I would love to see the shoes. And how you made them , Photos? Jim dwyer
When I clicked on “Customer’s Gallery” I expected to see photos of work submitted by leatherworkers. Is that the purpose of this section of Tandy Leather’s Blog? Are there any special instructions or conditions for submitting examples of our work. I have been a leathercraftsman since 1964 and despite having Parkinson’s disease for the last three years I still enjoy working with leather every day. (It is amazing what medication can do). I live on the Central Coast of New South Wales about 1 hour north of Sydney, Australia.
Please email your pics to cdavenport@leatherfactory.com and I will get them posted.
Still cannot access the Customer Gallery. I sent some pics on 14th June to be posted if suitable. Every time I clik on the Customer Gallery tab it takes me to a new page but does not open to show content.

Thanks for adding my gargole!
gargoyle….
I would assume that you get more than your share of “cutomer gallery” work.
However, I’ve sent several pics of some of my work and haven’t seen any of it. If it is not worthy of display, you could at least let me know and give me the reasons so I can improve in any area that falls short. I’ve no problem with constructive criticisms.
Art – Sorry, just a little slow getting everything posted to the Blog. I should have approved pics up by tomorrow afternoon. – Charlie Davenport TLF Media

Than you so much for posting my work. I’m quite fond of the Barbarian Armor I did. It was a very long project over the course of 10 years as I started with the “war belt’ and it continued to grow. Between the weapons, all the hardware (spikes, studs, spots etc.), leather and accessories I spent about $1,000.00. Fortunately, I won that and a bit more in Halloween costume contests. I also got a lot of use for it at Renaissance Fairs. I love doing projects for gifts for my family and friends, and for a bit of profit. I hope to post more projects in the near future along with close-up shots of the armor.
